Sadhana Studio

Located in Ann Arbor, Sadhana Studio offers small group and private classes to students of all ages and abilities. Madhavi teaches Bharatanatyam in
the Kalakshetra style, which places an emphasis on simplicity, purity, rigor, and classicism. Advanced students have the opportunity to perform
as part of Sadhana Dance Theater, and to learn contemporary pieces in which Bharatanatyam is a vehicle for modern narratives danced to English lyrics.

Dance classes are offered in the fall, winter and spring; each session is 12-14 weeks. There is a studio recital each spring, giving students regular
opportunities to perform. Sadhana Studio follows the Ann Arbor Public Schools policy on snow days, and missed classes are the responsibility of the
student unless 3 days' advance notice has been given.

Madhavi has taught Bharatanatyam and contemporary dance in a variety of settings. For twelve years Madhavi was a lecturer and teacher for Dance 175, Dance In American Culture, an introductory dance class offered in fall, winter and spring sessions at Oakland University, and she has also conducted dance workshops at the University of Michigan.

Contributing to the community is a core value for Madhavi. Sadhana Studio recitals are always benefit concerts for humanitarian aid organizations,
usually the Amma Center of Michigan or Smile Train.
